My Brush with Uncommon Valor

The words of Admiral Nimitz in 1945 seem especially poignant to me now, having finally visited that hallowed, blood-soaked ground, “Among the Americans who served at Iwo Jima, uncommon valor was a common virtue.” Yesterday was indeed an experience I’ll never forget.
